It all started with a remark by President Alyaksandr Lukashenko. During a speech on new technology recently, he said: “Innovations, IT-technologies, privatization – it is all clear. We’ve conquered all of them. But everything is very simply, one should get undressed and work.”
Some workers in Belarus took the remark very seriously. They posted pictures of themselves at work including naked and semi-naked businessmen and women at their desks on social media.
Belarusians are mostly using the hashtag #раздеватьсяиработать (#getnakedatwork) while posting their pictures of being naked at work on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Even selfie lovers took part in the campaign:
По совету Президентараздеваемся и идем работать… в такую жару особенно актуально)))

The hashtag became international over the weekend as users from Russia, Ukraine, and Baltic states have been seen posting undressed pictures of themselves at workplaces. “The president said this was necessary,” said an Instagram user with a picture of him working naked.
