Hungry? Grab a Burger. No idea about the best ones? Let’s see where the best of those are hidden...

“Food” is life, “food” is love! When the word “Food” comes in my mind, it almost starts feeling like heaven. And yes, when it’s burger, it becomes more heavenly.
Let me ask you some questions. What makes a burger ‘Great’? Is it the texture of the bun or the tenderness and juiciness of the meat inside? Is it the perfection of the patty or the sauce that swirls around within? The reality is, even if you follow a recipe word for word, the odds are that the burger won’t be as tasty as you wanted it to be.
I’ve had so many bad burgers in my life, that I lost count. Starting from that minuscule 15 taka burger in the school canteen, which was basically a little piece of beef potato chop tossed inside a bun; to that newly opened, over-hyped food court in the city where they served a fried chicken with bones and everything inside a soft bun; the truth is, my 90s childhood in Dhaka wasn’t that scrumptious.
However, it’s the past 15 or 16 years that gave rise to the vibrant and thriving food industry of Bangladesh, with Dhaka being the center.
Living in the very beginning of 2017, let me share my wonderful burger experience from all around Dhaka city. It feels very good actually great to recommend some burgers which I believe one must try once. Believe me, these are the “Must Eats” in Dhaka.
Beef Cheese Delight:
Takeout is the sort of place that didn’t have to spend much on their promotional activities, rather the burgers, as delicious as they are, spoke for themselves. The USP of the beef cheesy delight is the warm cheesy center of the patty that bursts into one cheese-filled sensation inside your mouth. I’d also recommend their fries because the potatoes are covered in a salty coating which matches perfectly with the burger and the dip. And you know what? The best part is it is totally in your budget.

Madame Lucy:
Madchef has a wide range of choices when it comes to burgers and many of them taste great, but the one burger which takes me back there at least once a month is their Madame Lucy burger. I think it’s primarily because of the sausage sauce and beautiful beef bacon inside along with the patty.
I know many of you will disagree and would rather choose some other burger in Madchef, but being a purist when it comes to liking food, I feel that Madame Lucy, in terms of its ingredients, is one complete burger. Try it and trust me you’ll worth it.
“Dhakaiya” Burger:
Again back with Madchef. Entering the list of my favorite burgers this won my heart. The soft bun and inside the deep fried patty of cheese is amazing. The tenderness and juicy texture of the beef patty remind me the feeling of biting the burger in real. Make the combination with naga sauce along with the garlic-meyo sauce. Feel the taste and the art of the burger. Don’t punish your tongue resisting the heavenly taste.

Classic Beef Burger:
This gem of a burger joint is located in Kamal Ataturk Avenue. You might face trouble finding it at first. If you live farther away from Gulshan, the journey through all the traffic can be stressful; but trust me when I say this, one bite of this soft bread with juicy meat and beef bacon will make it all worthwhile. The meaty delight is coated in mayo and barbecue sauce which gives the flavor an extra punch while you’re enjoying a mouthful.
If I had to give an unbiased opinion I must say that this is absolutely my favorite burger in Dhaka. However many of my foodie friends don’t feel the same way and I have received multiple mixed reviews so I couldn’t go out on a limb and preach it as the best burger.
Fat Boy Grand Texas Burger at Smoke Music Cafe:
Only by the looks of it, you can tell that this can’t go wrong. Beautiful, elegant and gargantuan. It is impossible to resist the crave of this which is made in a traditional way.
The burger itself is a multi-storied cheese filled, mayo soaked, super juicy beef with a whole lot of ketchup, lettuce, black olives and tomato on top. This is the kind of burger which you should not try every day unless you want to die of cardiac arrest, but this is also the ‘guilty pleasure’ burger you crave for every once in a while.
