Build Quality
Xiaomi Mi Mix is a premium looking device which has a ceramic body. This polished ceramic body makes it one the most slippery phones of all time. The full body is also fingerprint prone. But users can use the case that comes with the box to protect it. Though it will reduce the beauty of the phone.
The screen of the phone covers 93% of the front panel. The proximity sensor of the phone is replaced by ultrasound sensor to free up space. The earpiece that is used to hear phone calls is now replaced by a Cantilevel Piezoelectric ceramic speaker. This speaker uses the sound wave to vibrate the metal frame of the phone to generate sound.
The front camera is at the bottom right corner of the front panel. The back panel contains a primary camera and fingerprint sensor. The power button and volume rocker are on the left side and SIM tray is on the right side of the phone. 3.5mm audio jack is on the top and USB charging port and speakers are at the bottom of the phone.
The back part of the device is non-removable and the battery is also non-removable. The device weighs 209 grams with the battery.
Display
The display of Xiaomi Mi Mix is one of the extraordinary phone displays. It has a huge 6.4 inches IPS LCD Display. 1080X2080 pixels resolution and 362 pixels per inches make it more vibrant and colorful. It supports 16 million colors and HD videos. But there is no protection like Corning Gorilla Glass which is a huge bummer.
Viewing angle and color saturation of the display is awesome. There are four corners which are a bit curved. Watching a 16:9 videos can be really enjoyable on this display. Third apps like YouTube will leave some black spaces under the video.
User Interface
Xiaomi Mi Mix uses Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 user interface. It is loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. MIUI is the fastest and smooth Asian UI available. Unfortunately, there is no app drawer like stock android. There are features like themes, One hand’s mode, AppLocker, backup, screen navigator and more with this UI. Users will get future updates through the update app. The device is currently available in China. So there will be Chinese ROM installed in the device. But users can wipe out the stock ROM and use International ROMs.
Performance
Quad core Snapdragon 821 chipset with 2X2.35GHz Kryo and 2X2.19GHz Kryo processors made it a faster phone. It comes with 4GB or 6GB RAMs. There is 128GB Internal storage for 4GB version and 6GB RAM version contains a massive 256GB Internal memory. External memory is not needed so Xiaomi has no MicrosSD card slots.
There is some notable sensor like Accelerometer, Ultrasound, Gyroscope, Compass, Barometer, Fingerprint and GPS. The proximity sensor is replaced by Ultrasound sensor. The device has Adreno 530 GPU which makes gaming smooth and lag-free.
Camera
The camera quality of Xiaomi Mi Mix is average compared to the flagship devices out there in the market. The primary 16MP camera is good at taking pictures. The shutter speed is also good. But the color saturation is a bit shaggy. Low-light photography is not okay with the device. The device camera lags showing vibrant colors in taking pictures in low-light.
The front camera has a problem with handling it. The front panel of the phone is almost bezel-less. So the front camera is placed in the bottom right corner of the device. Pictures taken with the front camera has an angle that looks weird. The users have to lean the device a little bit to the bottom to take pretty selfies. Moreover, camera capture is located in on the bottom. Fingers often cover the lens while taking photos.
Battery
Xiaomi Mi Mix has 4400 maH Lithium ION Battery inside. This 4400maH is enough to support this huge 6.4 inches display for the whole day.
Price
The price of the device is pretty high. It is mainly out to be sold in China. So importing Xiaomi Mi Mix devices may costs a lot more than the official price tag. However, the price is $510 for 4GB/128GB version and $770 for 6GB/256GB version. There is also an 18K Gold edition of a 16GB/256GB version which will cost $919.
Pros

3. The phone is fast and UI is smooth, lag-free.
4. The ceramic body makes it look elegant.
5. Snapdragon 821 chipset makes it more powerful.

Cons
1. The bottom front panel location of the front camera makes it harder to take clear photos.
2. The image quality of photos of both cameras is not up to the premium quality.
3. There are no earpiece holes. Instead of it, Cantilevel Piezoelectric ceramic speaker is used. But it makes the sound of the calls lower. And ceramic vibration can be annoying during calls.
4. No memory card slots.
5. The phone is really slippery.
6. No Gorilla Glass Protection for the display.
